By age 12, he moved into the FASCAR Pro Trucks Series, competing against significantly more experienced adult drivers.
By 2012, at age 15, Lira established himself as one of Florida’s premier young short-track talents. During that season, he captured the Pro-Truck Track Championship at New Smyrna Speedway and finished tied for the track championship at Orlando Speedworld. These early short-track years provided a foundation in throttle control, close-quarters racing, and mechanical communication that facilitated his smooth transition into full-sized stock cars.
The ARCA Racing Series Journey
Lira stepped up to the ARCA Menards Series in 2013 at age 16, debuting at Berlin Raceway with Kimmel Racing. Due to ARCA age-restriction regulations at the time, drivers under 18 were restricted from competing on tracks longer than one mile. Consequently, Lira focused his early ARCA campaigns on short tracks and road courses while gaining superspeedway experience through sanctioning-body test sessions at Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway.
In 2015, Lira transitioned to Lira Motorsports, a family-owned racing team led by his father, Carlos Lira—himself a multi-time SCCA national champion.
