ARCA Racing Series Driver Michael Lira Participating In The IMSA Roar Before The Rolex 24

Michael Lira will add to his road course racing resume January 9th-11th in an IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Series Ford Mustang Boss 302 in the Roar Before the 24 at Daytona International Speedway.

The annual event features the sports cars of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge testing on the 3.56-mile road course in preparation for their season-opening events.

Lira, an ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards regular, has previous road course racing experience at Daytona, competing in a Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) event last year. In what was his first official SCCA start, he finished 8th overall and 4th in class. He also has road course experience from the ARCA Series last year at New Jersey Motorsports Park, where he brought home a 12th place finish.

“The road course experience I’m gaining in Daytona will help me tremendously when the ARCA Series returns to the New Jersey Motorsports Park in May,” Lira said. “Overall, I feel road course racing has made me a more well-rounded driver. I’m really looking forward to getting my ARCA season under way, and getting back to New Jersey to top my finish from last year.”

In Daytona, Michael, along with fellow Lira Motorsports driver Timmy Rivers, will be in a Racers Edge Motorsports Ford Mustang Boss 302. One of the premier teams in North American road racing, Racers Edge has been winning races and capturing championships for over 20 years.

The team revealed the No. 57 / Gary Yeoman’s Ford Lincoln / Roush Yates / Ford Racing livery yesterday. The distinctive design is typical of the Lira Motorsports team livery in ARCA racing series competition throughout the year.
